Hey you guys,
No pix for now but I will update as soon as I am able.
I know I have not been online for a while, well as you know from my last post I had decided to move to the Outback for work. After spending nearly 20hours on the road, including 6 hours at Darwin airport forcing some of you to speak to me online (thanks for that btw) and 12hours on a bus I finally arrived in Renner Springs on 17th December. It is what it is: apart from the Roadhouse and its employees there is nothing else here. And it is hot and humid. If you thought 30 degrees celsius was hot think again. It doesn't even cool down at night, so thank you Willis Haviland Carrier for inventing the aircon. Without it I don't think I could stand it here any more than a day.
Christine and Allen the owners, are nice people and helped me a lot. As I mentioned to my family I was not able to contact anyone for a few days as there is no cell phone service out here. Payphones work and thank God the internet as well.
I am basically doing housekeeping when required and bar/restaurant/reception/shop. Everything is in one place so that makes it easier and it is simple work, although the one massive problem I have right now is the dialect. You think you know English, no you don't. My uncle used to say to me that Americans talk like they chew gum while doing it, well these people here, have a whole packet in their mouth and can't open it because it is glued shut.... Especially the indigenous people I have so many problems with. Oh well, give me a few months and I guess I will be alright.
Everything is just so laid back around here because there really is nothing you can do if something goes wrong. On my second day there were two German girls (yes we really seem to be everywhere) whose car broke down and there was this guy in the bar having a drink. He took a look at their car (after finishing his drink obviously and happened to know about cars) and then told them it was ruined. He then offered to take them to the next larger town where he lives as well and even offered to help find a job and have the girls stay with him and his wife. How nice is that? But that is what you get here, nice helpful people.
I am also planning the trip for mom and me and have spoken to so many people already about what the best way would be and what to avoid etc. It's great to be able to chat with people about all that and just life in general. Yes I am working 7 days a week but then again it gives me the option of earning and saving as there is nowhere else to go anyways. So that is good. Plus I will be able to come back for work after my vacation with Mom which is a bonus. I am trying to get a second year Visa and Christine said she might be able to help me with that. But I am taking one step at a time and try not to rely on that.
I will write more next time I get a breather, so stay tuned :).

Heute noch keine Photos aber ich mach das so schnell wie es geht.
Ich weiss ich war schon eine Weile nicht mehr online, naja wie ihr ja von meinem letzten Eintrag wisst hatte ich mich entschieden der Arbeit wegen ins Outback zu ziehen. Nachdem ich nunmehr ca. 20Stunden auf den Beinen war, mit 6Stuendigem Aufenthalt am Darwin Flughafen wo ich einige von Euch gezwungen habe mit mir uebers Internet zu sprechen (danke nochmal dafuer) und 12 Stunden im Bus bin ich am 17. Dezember in Renner Spings angekommen. Es ist wie es ist: Vom Roadhouse mal abgesehen gibt es nichts weiter. Und es ist heiss und stickig. Die Luftfeuchtigkeit liegt meist so bei 70-80%. Wenn ihr denkt 30 Grad sind heiss, denkt nochmal. Es kuehlt sich ueber Nacht nicht mal ab, also danke ich hiermit Willis Haviland Carrier fuer die Erfindung der Klimaanlage. Ohne die wuedre ich es wohl kaum einen Tag hier aushalten.
Christine und Allen, die Eigentuemer, sind sehr nette Menschen und sie haben mir sehr geholfen. Wie ich schon meiner Familie mitgeteilt hatte, war ich fuer einige Tage nicht in der Lage irgendjemandem Bescheid zu sagen, dass ich angekommen bin, weil es hier keinen Handy Empfang gibt. Oeffentliche Telefone funktionieren und Gott sei Dank das Internet auch.
Um es mal imGroben zu sagen mache ich Zimmer sauber wenn es Leute gibt die hier schlafen, und dann arbeite ich an der Bar/rezeption/Restaurant/Laden. Alles ist in einem, was die Sache einfacher macht und es ist einfache Arbeit. Das einzige Problem was ich im Moment habe ist der Dialekt. Man denkt man kann Englisch sprechen, aber da irrt man sich. Mein Onkel hat mal gesagt, dass die Amerikaner sprechen als haetten sie Kaugummi im Mund, naja die Leute hier haben wohl eine ganze Packung im Mund und der klebt auch noch zusammen... Ganz besonders die Ureinwohner versteh ich sehr sehr schlecht. Naja, gebt mir ein paar Monate und wir kriegen auch das noch hin.
Alles wird hier einfach ein wenig gelassener genommen weil man wirklich nichts machen kann wenn mal was schief geht. An meinem zweiten Tag hier kamen zwei Deutsche Maedels (ja wir sind wirklich ueberall) deren Auto kaputt gegangen ist und da war so ein Typ in der Bar mit was zu trinken. Er hat sich das Auto angesehen (nachdem er das Bier ausgetrunken hat und weil er von Autos Ahnung hat) und hat ihnen gesagt das Auto ist Schrott. Dann hat er ihnen angeboten sie mit in den naechsten groesseren Ort zu nehmen wo er auch wohnt und hat dazu noch gesagt er hilft ihnen bei der Arbeitssuche und dass die Maedels erstmal bei ihm und seiner Frau uebernachten koennen. Wie nett ist das denn? Aber so ist es hier nunmal, man trifft meist nur hilfsbereite Menschen, weil auch jeder jeden kennt.
Ich plane auch den urlaub mit Mama im februar und habe bereits mit vielen gesprochen, die mir Tipps gegeben haben was das Beste waere und was man nicht machen muss etc. Es ist toll mit den Leuten die hierherkommen ueber so etwas aber auch ueber das Leben im Allgemeinen zu sprechen. Ja, ich arbeite 7 Tage die Woche, aber das gibt mir auch die Moeglichkeit Geld zu verdienen und zu sparen, weil ich kann ja niergends hin. also ist das schonmal gut. Noch dazukommt, dass ich nach meinem urlaub mit Mama auch wieder herkommen kann und weiter arbeiten kann. Ich werde auch versuchen mein zweites Jahresvisum zu bekommen und Christine hat gesagt sie koennte mir da weiterhelfen. Noch nehme ich jeden Tag wie er kommt und versuche mich darauf nicht zu verlassen.
Ich werde bald mehr schreiben wenn ich wieder Zeit habe, also dranbleiben :).
Ich hoffe Ihr habt alle ein tolles Jahr 2011; ich freue mich auf alle Faelle auf meines!!!!
